If you are passionate about Zumba and you feel you can motivate others to get fit, you can consider turning it into a profession. This is in fact, one of the best jobs. You can set your own hours and stay accountable for your personal fitness goals. At the same time, you influence a lot of people along their fitness journeys.
In order to teach Zumba, you need to be licensed through the Zumba Academy since this format is trademarked. But before making your decision to get licensed, you should visit some classes to find out if it’s something that you want to invest your time and money into. Once you are sure about it, you can take the next step, which is to enroll for Zumba Basic Level 1. It’s a 2 days program and is taught by a ZES (Zumba Education Specialist). You’ll learn the four basic steps to Zumba, which include Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Reggaeton. It is a combination of theory and practical learning to give you the skills you will need to conduct a class. The license lasts for a year after which you need to renew if you wish to continue teaching. Taking up a ZIN (Zumba Instructor Network) membership at the time of the training is better that gives you access to new choreographies every month.
Make sure you practice and master the style and choreography of the fitness program before you start teaching a class.
