How Zumba went from an Idea to Worldwide Fitness Phenomenon

How Zumba went on from an idea to a Worldwide fitness phenomenon:

If it was twenty years back and someone had said the word “Zumba” to you, you may have wondered which language they were speaking. But Zumba has now become a worldwide fitness phenomenon. It not only keeps you fit and healthy but also gives you positive vibes and most of all keeps you happy.

But have you ever wondered where it has come from?
The story of Zumba begins with an accident but let’s call it a “happy accident”. Zumba was created by the choreographer and fitness instructor Alberto ” Beto” Perez in the mid 90s. Beto was on his way to his aerobics class and suddenly realised that he had forgotten his music. He did not have time to go back and get the music and decided to take his merengue and salsa CD’s to the class. He improvised his class with a perfect mix of dance and aerobics and kept the students moving and having more fun than usual.

Now, he began teaching this format in Miami which gained popularity but it still did not have a name like aerobics. That was when he accidentally met two other Albertos – Alberto Perlman and Alberto Aghion. Together they called the new style “Zumba” and brought it to fitness centers all over the world.
